Jobs Suck!

We don’t like the traditional model of work, so we’re experimenting with our own model… we call it: The Nerditorium

Work is broken! At least jobs are. If you happen to have one, does this sound familiar? Wake up, prep for work, drive to work, work, drive home from work, unwind from work, sleep, repeat, live for the weekends and try to squeeze in your aspirations between chores? Fuck that!

The Nerditorium takes a new approach:

  1. Surround talented entrepreneurs with people they admire
  2. Cut out life’s chores
  3. Give them freedom to collaborate on projects they’re passionate about.

At the Nerditorium we:

  • Can focus on our projects; all our chores (cooking, cleaning, etc.) are taken care of.
  • Work 4 days a week and take 3 off, because working 5+ days a week is insane.
  • Collaborate with people on projects of our choosing for 3 months (or less) and take off 1 month or more in-between projects.
  • Live & work in the same place as our collaborators
  • Build equity in profitable projects we care about.

So… what are we doing now?

Hopefully, we’ll be able to change the way people think about work.

    Hi,

You are my best discovery in awhile.

The chain of events in the last hour:
    -I found you on kickstarter,
thought the film idea and trainler was sheer poetry,
    -then saw your blog,
-loved the 10 min backflip video: you got more fulfillment and accomplishment in 10 minutes than i often do in 8-14 hours of work,
-read your nerditorium blog and felt i found kindred spirits – tech, athleticism, and adventure – THAT’S WHERE IT’S AT.

I’m in the upper west side neighborhood of Manhattan. Where are you folks?

Is your crew open to new collaborators/contributors?

    Best,

    Evan

    Hey Evan,

Thanks for the comment love, I’m glad you dig the stuff we’re doing. I’m up in Seattle for now, but most of the crew is down in San Diego. We’re always looking to meet interesting people and work with them if our interests align.

    - Rev.
